Ziziki’s at Travis Walk
Costa and Mary Arabatzis opened the original Ziziki’s Restaurant at Travis Walk, 4514 Travis St. #122, Dallas, Texas, in July of 1994. Since inception, Ziziki’s has earned high acclaim from both local and national food critics and has won the prestigious “Award of Excellence” from the Wine Spectator since opening. Additional awards include AOL Cityguide City’s BEST award for outdoor dining and healthy dining and The Dallas Observers’ Best Greek Restaurant by readers and editors.
The name Ziziki’s comes from the Greek name for the tangy yogurt sauce (tzatziki sauce) which is used as the dressing on many of the signature menu items, including Ziziki’s famous Greek salad. Ziziki’s has become everyone’s favorite neighborhood bistro with an upbeat atmosphere and eclectic décor with yellow-tinted wine shelves and dark-stained mahogany wood bar.
Ziziki’s Travis Walk expanded in 1995, to include a private dining room, which accommodates up to 40 guests. The private dining room features its own custom cherry wood bar designed by the same Wallace & Hinz bar manufacturer that created the signature bar in the main dining room.
The opportunity to expand again occurred in April, 2004 as Ziziki’s approached it’s ten year anniversary. Ziziki’s added an additional private dining room to accommodate a smaller, 20 person private dining room and an expanded kitchen to accommodate this increase in seating. The new private dining room is opposite the main bar at Ziziki’s and is used for smaller private parties and additional seating during busy lunches and dinners.
