Centuries before Christ, the area surrounding the Mediterranean Sea was colonized by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans, who shared a basic cultivation of wheat, olives and grapes. These in turn became bread, olive oil and wine…three components that are extremely important in the Mediterranean diet.
Open-air markets in towns scattered throughout Greece display fresh tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, garlic, grapes, fresh fish and pungent herbs including basil, thyme, oregano, parsley and mint. Research has proven that the Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest diets in the world resulting in productivity and longevity.
Ziziki’s takes customers on a culinary journey through Greece with a menu that is steeped in tradition but with a flavorful and fresh twist to Greek cuisine. Ziziki’s menu is simple and straightforward, but behind its simplicity, like much of the cuisine enjoyed in Greece, lies a myriad of flavors: spinach, garlic, yogurt, dill, Greek oregano, lamb, chicken and salmon.
